Thursday of Lent 2 – March 12, 2020 –Acts 4:12
1 There is a Redeemer—
Jesus, God’s own Son;
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One.
Refrain: Thank You, O my Father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit
Till the work on earth is done.
2 Jesus, my Redeemer,
Name above all names;
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Hope for sinners slain. Refrain
3 When I stand in glory,
I will see His face;
There I’ll serve my King forever
In that holy place. Refrain [2]
“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12
This hymn made popular in the 1970’s at the height of the Jesus Movement has made it into our hymnal. In a clear and simple form is speaks of the necessity of Christ and Him alone as the only means of salvation. All music at one time was new and contemporary. Today may its message speak to your soul.
O Lord, strong and mighty, Lord of Hosts and King of glory: Cleanse our hearts from sin, keep our hands pure, and turn our minds from what is passing away; so that at the last we may stand in Your holy place and receive Your blessing; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen [3]
