Monday of Lent 3

MONDAY, MARCH 21, 2022                                       Scripture Reading: Romans 2:1–11
Additional Scriptures: Psalm 39; Jeremiah 11:1–17

No man can escape his own sin. Every sin you commit will hunt you down and find you out and make you pay. There is no escape. There has never been one sin committed on earth that the man who committed it did not suffer for it.  There has never been one sin committed that paid. You may escape the law of man but you cannot escape the law of God. So what do we do? We plead guilt of all sin and then turn to the merits and mercies of Christ our Savior. The severity of the Law only leads to the purity of the Gospel. “God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.” -2 Corinthians 5:19
Look to Christ for salvation and life. Count yourself dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Look upon the heart-felt desires of Your humble servants, Almighty God, and stretch forth the right hand of Your majesty to be our defense against all our enemies; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen [2]
