FRIDAY, MARCH 04, 2022 Scripture Reading: Exodus 6:1–13
Additional Scriptures:
Psalm 91:1–2, 9–16; Acts 7:35–42
It is not really so important what your sufferings are, or how unjust your suffering may indeed be. But what is important is how you respond to suffering. Don’t be like the children of Israel who harkened not unto the Lord, nor believed His promises. The servant is not greater than his master. Jesus suffered cruelly and unjustly; and so will you if you pick up your cross and follow Him.
Perhaps the sufferings of this life are many for you. But they are temporary and they are not worthy to be compared with the glory and the riches of God’s grace. God is faithful. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever; which also means that the promises of God are just as real and can be just as powerful in your life as in the lives of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. [1]
We beseech Thee, O Lord God, to turn Thy face from our sins, and to blot out all our transgressions; and as the publican, who stood afar off, was heard in his humility, so hear us not for our own merits, but for the merits of Him who, being co-equal with Thee, His Father, yet for our sake took upon Him the form of a servant, our Lord Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with Thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen [2]
