Monday, March 7, 2016 Thy Will Be Done

Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that. James 4:15

If the Lord wills. Not a formula but an attitude of humility that recognizes God gives us time and resources to use for His purpose (Cf. Matthew 6:10) Expressed by the Christian notation, “Deo volente,” “by the will of God.”[1]

How is God’s will done in our lives? God’s will is done when He breaks and hinders the plans of the devil, the world and our sinful nature, which try to destroy our faith in Christ Jesus. [2]

O Lord our God, in your Holy Sacraments you have given us a foretaste of the good things of your kingdom: Direct us, we pray, in the way that leads to eternal life, that we may come to appear before you in that place of light where you dwell forever with your saints; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen[3]
