Maundy Thursday, March 24, 2016 But Deliver us from Evil
So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful;
he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are
tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
1Corinthians 10:12 -13
All
humans undergo temptation, even those who like some Corinthians, think they
have special spiritual abilities. Because God has promised to be with His people,
we are never left in a losing situation. His grace provides new opportunities
for us to be faithful.[1]
Almighty Father, whose dear Son, on the night
before he suffered, instituted the Sacrament of his Body and Blood: Mercifully
grant that we may receive it thankfully in remembrance of Jesus Christ our
Lord, who in these holy mysteries gives us a pledge of eternal life; and who
now lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Amen[2]
