returns to Jerusalem launched his conspiracy forcing David to flee for his
life.
2 Samuel 16-18 Absalom’s
rebellion results in his death and David’s grief.
2 Samuel 19-20 The
aftermath of Absalom's rebellion, David's return to Jerusalem, his efforts to
restore unity and deal with internal conflicts, and a new rebellion led by
Sheba.
2 Samuel 21-22 chronicles
the later years of David’s reign, focusing on justice for the Gibeonites to end
a famine, the killing of Philistine giants by David’s men, and a psalm of
praise from David thanking God for delivering him from his enemies. These
chapters highlight divine justice, the legacy of David’s warriors, and his deep
reliance on God.
