The most important week in the life of the Christian will fall this month of April. We will observe Christ’s arrest, trial, conviction, suffering, and death. We will then gather to celebrate the Resurrection and proclaim together, “Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed!”
These events are not only the foundation and substance of our faith. The events of Holy Week helps us make senses of this life we live. We live in a broken world. We live in a world compromised by sin. Suffering is the consequence. Sorrow is the result and by-product. Yet we always have hope. Jesus is the God who came down from heaven. He entered time and space to bear our sin, suffer innocently and the rise victoriously. He was that man. “He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.” –Isaiah 53:3
As you observe the events of the work of Christ you now have opportunity to share His story with others. As you have embraced this new life in Christ may it be reflected in your life, your witness and your conversation. Christ’s peace be yours!
Lord, by the stripes which wounded Thee,
From death’s dread sting Thy servants free
That we may live and sing to Thee.
Alleluia!
I close again simply to say thank you for the unexpected acknowledgement of thirty years in ministry! Tammy and I are both overwhelmed and humbled by the kindness and generosity you have expressed to us. It has been a joy to be a part of your lives in times of celebration and sadness. It has been an honor to be a part of your joys and sorrows and life's milestones while we, together, worship our God and seek to share His love & peace. We are blessed! – Acts 2:42
