Marietta Jean Reinking, 84, Fort Wayne, passed away Feb. 26, 2018, at Adams Heritage, Monroeville. She was born DeKalb County Aug. 12, 1933, to the late Herman Henry Paul and Ruth (Kernes) Doctor.
A graduate of New Haven High School, Marietta was the financial secretary at Bethlehem Lutheran Church for 26 years, from which she retired. A dedicated member of the church since 1952, she enjoyed helping with the food bank and creating the Christmas and Easter bulletins. She loved playing cards with her friends; especially euchre, pinochle and poker.
Among survivors are her son-in-law, Johnnie Saylor; and nine nieces and nephews, Marlene (Jerry) Dekoninck, Richard (Ruth) Hartmann, Loren (Vicki) Hartmann, Robert (Janelle) Hartmann, Paula (Doyle) Acres, Paul Newman, MarDee (Andy) McCoy, Kenneth Newman and LouAnn (Bill) McCoy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Reinking; daughters, Jeanne Kay Reinking and Vernalene Sue Saylor; sisters, Delores Hartmann and Lucille Newman; brothers-in-law, Gilbert Hartmann and Paul Newman; and nephew, Greg Newman.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 3705 S. Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Jeff Geisler and Pastor Dan Dahling will officiate. Burial is at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne.
Preferred memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, Worship Anew, Cornerstone Youth Center or Charis House.
