Sunday, March 1, 2009 – Lent 1 – Faith tested – Mark 1:12-15

Even as Christians we are more than daily tempted by Satan. Being the sinful human beings we are, we often fall into temptation. But just because we can’t stand strong in the faith 100% of the time doesn’t mean it should stop us from spreading god’s Holy Word written in the bible. Everyone is sinful and everyone is still in need of hearing His Word. There is not one man, except Christ, who is without sin and isn’t in need of forgiveness.

Although the Son of God was perfect and sinless, he was still tempted by the Devil and every time He resisted. We will never be able to resist the tests and trials of sin like Jesus. Yet we can stay strong in our faith. Repent and believe. Repent and ask God for forgiveness of all your sins. Believe that Jesus Christ is our one and only Savior who died on the cross to save all sinners.

Dear God our heavenly Father, Forgive me for all my sins. Give me the strength to resist all temptations as Your Son Jesus did. Help me stay strong in the faith and believe in Your gospel. Thank You, for sending Your one and only Son Jesus Christ, to die for me and everyone else on this sinful earth. In Your name, I pray.
